Ahead of Saturday’s Premier
League clash againt Chelsea, Arsenal midfielder, Oxlade Chamberlain reveals
what his side must do if they want to win the game.
According to the winger, Arsenal must keep their discipline
and not get anyone sent off.
Arsenal against Chelsea is a
London derby where we used to see a lot of red cards. The latest to got sent
off was Gabriel Paulista after a confrontation with Chelsea’s Diego Costa.
The relation between former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho
and Arsene Wenger is also a reason why this fixture has been full of bad blood
in the past, but even though Mourinho left Chelsea, tensions are still
set to be high with so much on offer in the game.
Speaking to the club’s official
website, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: “It’d be nice to keep 11 men on the pitch
against Chelsea this time round.
“I know it sounds funny but generally speaking in the last
few games against them, it’s always a big clash with a lot of emotions and
maybe some mind games.
“First and foremost, it’s a massive game and we just need to
keep our discipline and stay in the game. I’d back this team to be able to beat
anyone in the league on our day.
“It’s going to be a big occasion but we can’t get too caught
up in it, we just need to go out and play our game.”
Arsenal are in a good form this season, winning last three
games in Premier League. Chelsea also had an impressive start of the season but
failed to win their last two league matches.
Arsenal stands 4th in the Premier League table with the same
points as Chelsea who are 5th. This will make Saturday’s London derby even more
interesting and the atmosphere in Emirates Stadium is expected to be electric.
