BlackBerry Phones are officially dead

BlackBerry announces it will make no more new phones

The company was once the biggest smartphone maker in the world. Now it has stopped making them at all.

BlackBerry is going to stop designing its own phone, bringing to an end one of the most iconic products of the internet era.

The company used to be the biggest and most important smartphone maker in the world. But it has said that it will now stop designing them itself, instead outsourcing that development to partners.

It brings to an end months of speculation about what BlackBerry would do with its smartphone business, which has been gradually overtaken by companies like Apple and Samsung.

It had tried other options, like using Google’s Android operating system in phones that it built itself. But that doesn’t appear to have worked.

"The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners," CEO John Chen said in a statement.

Closing down the part of its business that makes phones will help the company save on capital, it said. Instead, it will have other companies design and build them, removing the need for that investment.

BlackBerry hopes that it can instead revive itself by focusing on software, a focus that it says is now “taking hold”.

The BlackBerry was once a cultural phenomenon – inspiring the “CrackBerry” idea of people glued to their work email and communications. It also made its way into people’s personal lives, with BlackBerry Messenger becoming a central part of people’s communications in the mid-2000s.

But it didn’t see the rise of more sophisticated, touch screen smartphones like those made by Samsung and Apple. Sales gradually died off and, despite frenzied attempts to catch up, it never recovered.

As such, it joins Nokia as a once iconic brand now consigned to history. BlackBerry’s death happened perhaps more gradually – going from being second in the phone market behind Nokia in 2009, when it controlled 20 per cent of the market, to much less than 1 per cent now.

Kwara Govt. Inaugurates N3.7bn Geri Alimi Roundabout to Decongest Traffic – Commissioner

THE Kwara Government is to inaugurate the construction of Geri-Alimi roundabout to decongest traffic in some parts of Ilorin Township.
The Kwara Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ilorin.
He said the project was in line with the change mantra of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deliver true democracy dividends to the people by transforming the state and boosting its economy.
The commissioner expressed optimism that on completion, the roundabout would ease traffic congestion in the area and also beautify the city.

He said the phase one aspect of the contract would be executed within nine months, while the phase two and three which would be extended to Umar Audi General Hospital road would last for 18months.
According to the commissioner, the construction of the three phases of the project was awarded at the cost of N3.7billion.
He added that there would be 24 hours police surveillance at the roundabout on completion.
The Commissioner  further added that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Asa-dam, Egbejila-airport and Odota-Lubcon to Gerewu roads had already commenced.
This, he said, was to serve as alternative link roads to decongest traffic as the Gari-Alimi project commences.
He said the contractor – Duravil Engineering Nigeria Limited handling the phase one and two of the project would expand the Gari-Alimi road to the General Hospital axis.
He said the contractor was one of the best construction companies in the country.
The commissioner, however, called on the public to cooperate with the contractor to enable him complete the work within the stipulated period.
He urged the contractor handling the ongoing reconstruction of Coca-Cola Bridge along Coca-Cola road, Ilorin, Alaco Construction Limited, to ensure that the project meets technical specifications and international standard.
According to him, the completion of the project will bring a permanent solution to the perennial flooding in the area.
He, however, pleaded with residence of the area to be patient with the contractors as the projects continue, adding that alternative roads would be provided to ease traffic jam.
He further said that efforts were in place to fill potholes in major roads across the state, adding that installation of asphalt plants was at advance stage of completion.
“The Governor will inaugurate the plant within the next few weeks for the Ministry of Works and Transport to tackle potholes on the roads,’’ he said.
Yahaya said that the general maintenance and filling of potholes on roads across the state would go a long way to ease traffic flow and frustration of motorists. (NAN)

8 Lesbian Girls Expelled From Secondary School

Barely a week after the the local newspaper covered a story about the rising number of lesbians in Girls High Schools all over the country, the administration has now sent home eight girls over the matter. The school’s principal, Pacifica Nyambong’i said that a group of eight students in Form Two, who were also jointly being investigated for arson claims, had been sent home and others readmitted after undergoing counseling and promising to change. The principal admitted that some Form Two students confessed to being lesbians who had lovers in the school while other girls denied the allegations.

“I received a note listing some girls as suspected lesbians who also planned to burn down the school on December 10th, we embarked on investigations to unearth the truth,” Ms Nyambog’i revealed. Those who confessed to being lesbians were forgiven, counseled and readmitted but those who denied were sent home.

The parents of those sent home have however mounted a strong defence to the allegations claiming that their girls were beaten during the interrogations in order to admit by force. Also, Anglican run St James Girls High School in Zimbabwe has been hit by a lesbian sex scandal which has resulted in the expulsion of pupils, one of them for offering a teacher sex in exchange for lenience after being caught in the act.

The scandal reportedly started in June when two Form Six pupils were caught by fellow pupils in the middle of the night having a nice time under the sheets, BMetro reported. A report was made to the school authorities.  After a probe, the two girls (names withheld) were suspended for two weeks. According to a source, the pupils showed remorse during the disciplinary hearing and promised to give up the lesbian antics. On returning to school after serving the sentence, the two are said to have kept a distance from each other.

“Everyone was convinced that they had indeed stopped their behaviour. They even stopped talking to each other and we all thought that the relationship was over. Little did we know that we were being fooled,” said a source.

SAUDI CUTS MINISTERS’ SALARIES BY 20 PER CENT
King Salman
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Monday cut cabinet ministers’ salaries by 20 percent and reduced other state officials’ benefits in a continuing austerity drive to cope with lower oil revenues.
The 160 members of the Shura Council, who include 30 women, will see a 15 percent drop in their annual allowances for housing, furniture and cars, a royal decree said.
Council members are appointed by the king to advise cabinet.
The decrees which announced the measures did not say how much money would be saved.

Since 2014 global oil prices have collapsed by more than half, leaving Saudi Arabia with a record deficit last year.

Paul Pogba scored his first goal for Manchester United since his £89m move from Juventus

Manchester United thrashed Premier League champions Leicester City as boss Jose Mourinho dropped captain Wayne Rooney from his starting line-up.

Chris Smalling's header put United ahead before Juan Mata finished off a slick move with a crisp strike.

Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba - with his first goal for the club - both scored from corners, with Demarai Gray's spectacular long-range strike the only consolation for Leicester.

Rooney came on in the 83rd minute.

United's first Premier League win in a month was sealed by half-time, but a third defeat for Leicester already matches their total for the whole of last season.

Oxlade Chamberlain reveals what Gunners’ must do to defeat Chelsea

Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash againt Chelsea, Arsenal midfielder, Oxlade Chamberlain reveals what his side must do if they want to win the game.
According to the winger, Arsenal must keep their discipline and not get anyone sent off.
Arsenal against Chelsea is a London derby where we used to see a lot of red cards. The latest to got sent off was Gabriel Paulista after a confrontation with Chelsea’s Diego Costa.

The relation between former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger is also a reason why this fixture has been full of bad blood in the past, but even though Mourinho left Chelsea,  tensions are still set to be high with so much on offer in the game.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: “It’d be nice to keep 11 men on the pitch against Chelsea this time round.
“I know it sounds funny but generally speaking in the last few games against them, it’s always a big clash with a lot of emotions and maybe some mind games.
“First and foremost, it’s a massive game and we just need to keep our discipline and stay in the game. I’d back this team to be able to beat anyone in the league on our day.
“It’s going to be a big occasion but we can’t get too caught up in it, we just need to go out and play our game.”
Arsenal are in a good form this season, winning last three games in Premier League. Chelsea also had an impressive start of the season but failed to win their last two league matches.
Arsenal stands 4th in the Premier League table with the same points as Chelsea who are 5th. This will make Saturday’s London derby even more interesting and the atmosphere in Emirates Stadium is expected to be electric.

Premier League: Arsenal Vs Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side travel to the Emirates to take on an in-form Arsenal side on Saturday evening.
Arsenal have failed to win any of the last nine Premier League meetings between the two sides, although Arsene Wenger’s men did beat Chelsea in the Community Shield last season.
The Gunners have also picked up four red cards in the last five league matches against the Blues.
Both sides sit on 10 points in the table and both successfully navigated EFL Cup third round ties on Tuesday night.
A second-string Arsenal team comfortably saw off Championship side Nottingham Forrest 4-0.
Lucas Perez scored his first and second goals for the club, while Granit Xhaka scored a long-range screamer for the second game running. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also got his name on the scoresheet to complete the rout.
Chelsea faced a trickier match against Premier League champions Leicester City, although both teams rested a number of regular starters.
The Blues fought from 2-0 down to win the match 4-2 after extra time, with Cesc Fabregas scoring a brace.
Fabregas, of course, played for the Gunners for eight seasons. The Spaniard is yet to start a Premier League match so far this season.
Team news
Petr Cech will return to goal to face his former side. The shot stopper spent more than a decade at the Stamford Bridge club.
All four of Arsenal’s starting defenders received midweek breaks and will start against the Blues, although a fit again Gabriel Paulista gives Wenger an alternative.
Alex Iwobi looks set to continue his run of Premier League games, while Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozilwill also return to the side.
Olivier Giroud is a doubt for the match but could feature on the bench alongside Perez.
Oxlade-Chamberlain could be rewarded for his fine goalscoring performance with a start on Saturday, although a rested Theo Walcott will provide competition on the right.
Like Chamberlain, Fabregas’ midweek display could see him replace Oscar in Conte’s three-man midfield.
Diego Costa will replace Michy Batshuayi up front, though the Belgian forward could be used out wide.
John Terry looks set to miss out again through injury, with David Luiz continuing alongside Gary Cahillin defence.

I'm the worst manager in the history of football, says Mourinho

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has sarcastically labelled himself the worst manager in the history of football after he faced criticism following a recent slump in form.

Despite winning his first four games in charge, Mourinho came under media scrutiny after the club lost three in a row before beating third tier Northampton Town in the League Cup.
They sit six points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League and face champions Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
When asked about Claudio Ranieri's side and their prospects, Mourinho took the opportunity to take a swipe at his detractors.
"It is very difficult to retain the title," Mourinho told reporters on Friday. "History says that. Not many in the Premier League have done it.
"One team was Manchester United and another was managed by the worst manager in the history of football (Mourinho at Chelsea 2005-2006)."
United captain Wayne Rooney has faced fierce criticism after a string of poor performances in recent weeks but Mourinho said the forward should not be singled out from the rest of the squad.
"Rooney's form is like Man United's form. We are a team - we are not Wayne Rooney, we are a team," the 53-year-old coach said.
"But the way we think in the group is everybody is involved in every match, even the ones who are not playing."
Mourinho, who recently lashed out at football's "Einsteins" who have criticised United during their recent dip, said he was frustrated that he could not protect his players from media scrutiny.
"The only thing that upsets me a little bit is the kind of criticism for my players. I would love to protect my players, but from you (the media) I can't," Mourinho said.
"It is completely out of my control. That gives me a feeling that it is hard. That is frustrating. The Einsteins need money to live... They can speak, they can write.
"They can criticise the work of other people. But I am a good man. I am a man of goodwill. I do lots of charity work. I am helping so many people. Why not also help feed the Einsteins."
Forward Anthony Martial, who was forced off in last weekend's defeat by Watford, will not feature against Leicester due to a calf injury.

Burn Fat without loosing weight

Burning fat is usually synonymous with losing weight. However, you can actually burn fat and gain weight. However this is the good kind of weight because it is muscle. Confused? Let me explain. You see muscle weighs more than fat. This is good because the body has to work harder the more muscle it carries and the harder it works the more fat you will burn.

The fact is, however, it still needs to be the right TYPE of tissue you are dropping because knowing how to drop excess, essentially useless tissue while preserving valuable lean muscle mass involves a few very tricky issues. Additionally, accomplishing a goal like how-to-burn-fat-without-losing-weight, specifically, includes the matter of trusting your source of information, plus having reasons to believe that these weight loss facts will work for you

But, the kind of exercises you do are an important part of the process. A lot of people spend hours doing "curls for girls" or leg extensions, forearm curls and any other type of exercises that isolate individual muscles. These isolation exercises will, in fact build muscle, however their effect on burning fat is limited. That's because the range of motion of these exercises is very limited.

A compound exercise is one that works multiple muscle groups at the same time. These exercises typically have a wide range of motion than isolation exercises. Compare the clean and jerk or the dumb bell snatch to the curl. In the curl you are moving a weight from the top of your thigh to your chest. In the other two exercises you are moving a weight from the floor to above your head. Which one do you think exerts more effort?

This added effort not only builds muscle all over your body but throws your body into a state of metabolic shock that causes your body to burn more calories for days into the future. So, this is how you would go about burning fat without losing weight.

And with that, you can more easily assist even yourself with metabolizing body fat only while simultaneously enhancing muscle tone (which truly is what gives you that outward appearance of a shapelier, more attractive physique), whether or not you possess specialized education, or simply wish to become more fit, lean, motivated, trim, stronger, or more energetic. You are hardly alone in this how-to-burn-fat-without-losing-weight endeavor

Put simply, in order to burn off the weight that specifically comes from excess fatty tissue storage you have to be able to move your body quickly and fluently enough, plus continuously or frequently.

The big secret on maintaining useful body mass while decreasing surplus fats is:
1) be able to repeat an action continuously with little to no stopping, almost forever; and
2) assure that throughout each working session, you achieve a properly INTENSE heart rate.

Advantages from the above include enhancing your outcomes from adopted how to burn fat without losing weight methods, by achieving the goals you desire. Plus, you become increasingly better at doing this over time, which gives you the added perk of superior long-term fat burning and weight management ability.

The longer you can sustain your activity in a safe manner, the more enjoyably you can preserve your vital muscle tone and tissue while burning only the carbohydrates and saturated fat that cause the overweight issue to exist. In a nutshell, the formerly secret solution (which is not likely to change within a myriad of lifetimes) remains that you can lose fat without losing weight by consistently applying aerobic activity principles combined with calorie curbing food consumption habits.

With more detailed tactics on how to burn fat without losing weight, there is an upcoming article specifically covering the physical mechanics of how this actually works. Yet, in the meantime, devote your attention to getting started or placing your routine back on the most accredited, sensible, plus proven weight management satisfaction track.

MESSI OUT FOR THREE WEEKS

The five-time World Player of the Year Lionel Messi will be out of action for FC Barcelona and Argentina for the next three weeks due to a groin strain, this is a huge concern to his club and country.

“To lose Lionel Messi means football loses and we lose,” said Barca boss Luis Enrique.  Messi limped off just before the sixtieth minutes of the game between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on Wednesday during one of the La Liga games.

The Argentine captain will be missing in action for his country’s World Cup Qualifiers against Peru and Paraguay next month respectively as well as the Champions League game at Borussia Monchengladbach for his club, Barcelona.

However, Messi should be fit in time for a reunion with his old boss Pep Guardiola when Manchester City visits Camp Nou on October 19.

Now we have to look for other solutions, “added Luis Enrique. “With Leo we are much stronger, but without him we are still a strong team.”

Barca won 8 out of 10 games last season when Messi was out with a hamstring injury for eight weeks.  The manager hopes his side can show similar resilience to avoid dropping points further behind Real Madrid in the title race.

“It is a difficult injury that hurts and leaves you sad,” said Suarez. “Now we have to take responsibility.”  Suarez was book in about 94th minutes of the game between Atletico Madrid Filipe Luis.

Luis took to instagram after the game and posted a photo of a stud mark piercing his bleeding foot with the message :Just as well he didn’t touch me”

“This is a football game, it is a man’s game and what happened on the pitch stays on the pitch,” added Suarez.  “You can’t make a show of things every time something happens.  Last year he didn’t post a picture of Messi.  I repeat, football is for men.”
